What is the difference between maple syrup and Bonraw’ s organic maple sugar?

Unlike maple syrup, our fine maple sugar is much more versatile. Great for sprinkling onto porridge, adding to your espresso, swirling into yoghurt, adding into sponges, and sprinkling onto galettes.

Does making Bonraw’ s Fine Maple sugar harm the Red Maple tree?

No. Single origin from Quebec, Canada, our maple sugar is made from the pure, tree-trunk sap of the Red Maple tree. A single red maple tree can yield 10 gallons of sap over a season. Extracting the sap or ‘tapping the tree’ does not harm the tree as they have a natural healing process called ‘walling off’ that prevents the tap hole from being used again. A truly natural wonder!
