One of our world’s finest luxuries… chocolate sauce.

velvety, and ever so versatile. But don’t buy sauce… make it at home – quickly and easily with minimal ingredients.

It’ll transform a lifeless dull sponge into a heavenly and grandeur taste experience. Need we say more?

Ingredients

  • 75 ml of water
  • 60 g of Silver Birch Caster
  • 25 g of cococa powder
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt

Instructions

1.

Grab a saucepan and add 60 g of Silver Birch Caster, 25 g of cocoa powder, a pinch of salt, and ½ tsp of vanilla extract. Mix well.

2.

Once the ingredients are well combined you can begin adding in the water. Do this slowly, (you don’t want to drown your ingredients), continue mixing well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

3.

Time to add some heat! Put your saucepan on medium heat and wait for it to come to a boil. Stirring constantly.

4.

Once it starts to boil, reduce the temperature to very low heat. (Minimum: Gas Mark 1). Continue to stir the mixture until it becomes thickened to a syrup consistency.

5.

Then remove from the heat and transfer your sauce to a heat-proof dish. Allow your sauce to cool down before serving.

6.

Now… ice cream cones at the ready, please. Drizzle your chocolate sauce on a dessert of your pleasing. You could pour it onto pancakes, serve with some ice cream, or (if you’re feeling fancy) prepare some chocolate fondu.

The options are plentiful and delicious

Tips:

When heating your sauce on the stove , make sure that the mixture does not become too dense. if this does occur , immediately remove it from the heat so you can avoid burning your mixture.
